feathers fear no man
it’s the plucking
what does them in
but I’ll still watch it anyway
eagles & the chiefs
don’t think I’m alone
wanting somebody new
language
word memories
notes jotted in a cell phone app
infinite possibilities
arbitrary
milk-white fog
its deafening silence
can be heard everywhere
beyond the birch
feeder clangs noisily
January wind dispenses every seed
juncos searching elsewhere
merlot
pale January sky
fresh snow cover
the warmth of red wine
this is a nice break from sub-zero temps but spring soil needs a little moisture, too
and just like that,
our ten-day forecast
gifts us with 40s & 50s
frigid
the bite of January
cold feet rassling for warmth
bedtime ritual
