puppy barks at the front door
jumps on the bed to peer out the window
protecting his people, his top priority

The newest issue of The Orchards Poetry Journal, Summer 2023, is out and contains my poem vandalized buoys, snips of which are shown below. The journal is available for purchase or you may download a free digital copy from their website. My poem is on page 161.

reheating my favorite mug
tepid tea made hot again
I witness hate
at both ends
of the color spectrum
sultry morning
I swam on two legs for an hour
it sure wasn’t walking…
My poem contrapuntal insomnia appears today in the online journal BarBar Magazine, perhaps an apropos message following a wild night of 4th of July booms and bangs!
I hope you’ll enjoy it. 🙂
soggy skies, chill air
sunny warmth, birdsong
emotions in parallel
pain: emasculated
mojo
rejuvenation
blast of summer wind
time, again
to refill the bird feeders
Some of you may recall this very odd (!) prose poem I posted a few years back. It’s called Tree Creatures. When I saw a call for submissions where the theme was ‘Animal Vegetable Mineral’, I thought this little fella might be a good fit and sent it right in.
The online journal is Sein und Werden, — “being and becoming” — an online literary magazine of “experimental prose, poetry and artwork that seeks to merge and modernise the ideas behind Expressionism, Surrealism and Existentialism”.
I hope you’ll enjoy it. Happy Monday!
