paralysis of fallen leaves
an icy surround
neighbor’s Christmas lights
flicker and strobe

paralysis of fallen leaves
an icy surround
neighbor’s Christmas lights
flicker and strobe
cold morning hands
steaming Christmas mug of chai
its warmth begins to fade
clean & gleaming brightly
December snow
falling lightly, lightly
the shine of the day
its warm, crisp light
bursts through
our southern window
the roundabout way
puppy lets me know
how much I’m loved
puppy’s happy face
he bounds through tall, brown grasses
oh, but the curse of the cocklebur!
earth’s axis
taut line through center core
we ebb, we flow
dark-eyed junco holds fast
against the onslaught
bitter December wind
not perfect but definite improvement
better dietary choices yielding desired results
motivation to carry on: quite high indeed!
My poem burnished angel has just been published in the Winter Edition, #60, of Lowestoft Chronicle, my fourth appearance in this wonderful journal providing “perspectives on travel & the like…“. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy it!
