Tossing my hat in the ring! Here’s my contribution for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week.

Another one of my poems was published today in the Volume 22, Number 2 issue of Stickman Review. I was inspired to write bless me father for I may have sinned on a warm, sunny morning in June and I hope you’ll like it. As always, THANKS for looking!

frozen precipitation
blustery late autumn
our first snow

a burgeoning drip of authoritarianism rages
while a false tutelage charms the horde
hide-bound, they seek what’s been sold
the angry, the put-upon, the disenfranchised
(or so they’ve been preached to, again & again)
they proclaim, they defend, they implore
they beseech their new godhead, the one—
the anointed, the sign tells us, letters spray-painted
in glittering gold, come to save us all
to heal what ails us, the evil that lurks
in the liberal hearts of castigators & nonbelievers,
courageous, unfettered minds cognizant
of the danger, those who dare rail
against the utter stupidity of this despicable man
you have to start with the egg, the same egg, the very same egg fertilized at the same exact moment, fathered by the same exact man, impregnating the exact same woman, at the same, identical moment in time
then, after that, anything goes
