landscaping deliveries
the back-up chimes
of a yo-yo retailer
sweatshirt, a few haggard holes
mapped to the season’s first pair of shorts
the slightest chill, apprehensions of warmth
kaffe fassett color
quilt dries deliciously
in the morning breeze

NOTE: Kaffe Fassett (‘kaffe’ rhymes with ‘safe’!) is a fabric icon to thousands (millions?!?) of quilting enthusiasts. I adore his inspired patterns, colors and designs.
softer words
interspersed with unkind moments
my jagged edges
birdbath planter
scattered greenery
robin-chorus crescendo
seven 20 lb concrete blocks
subtle reminders to husband unheeded
so, I just moved them all myself
warmth envelops my body
I tell myself
it’s time to be good
to who I am
crashing into morning
one foot hits the floor
I still need to sleep
dark-blue expanse
northern sky emboldened
cold front moving in
My poems, Carnivorous and Word-Shopping, Part I, were published today in the online version of The Stygian Lepus, a dark literary journal. I hope that maybe you might like one – or both! – of them.
Also, forever and a day, THANK YOU for looking. Thank you for your support!
