Why have we not done this before? Hiking through the wintry woods with blue skies overhead and temps in the lower thirties presented us with a fantastic workout, fresh air and the opportunity to snap a few photos. Bucket List for 2016? Still mulling that over but I think incorporating more outdoor excursions is a most definite goal for the new year.

On a Three-Hour Tour…

Cee’s Oddball Photo Challenge: The Garbage Monster

On a recent windy day we came home to discover this dark leviathan snagged on our magnolia bush, swaying in the breeze like a giant, ribbed, plastic centipede in search of some hapless victim to choke and devour. We were lucky to dispatch with him before he was able to do any real damage to us or our unsuspecting neighbors.

Out and About

Sitting at our favorite Starbucks one day, I spied these two in the adjacent lobby. Hoping to add some ‘people’ shots to my photographic archives, I asked if I could take their picture. Happily, they complied. Because I didn’t want to intrude further, I quickly left without getting their names or their relationship to each other (I suspect they may have been father / daughter). Anyway, it’s scary enough to ask someone if you might ‘seize their soul’ via your camera and another thing entirely to get up close and personal.
People photography is not my strong suit and so I welcome your suggestions and advice on how I might grow in this direction!
