two hours of writing, reading
then writing some more
a wide-eyed, crazy, wild ride
my literary late, late night
toast with honey
a few poems
hot cinnamon spice tea
for the kill
My poem, the lookout, was published today in the Spring 2025 online issue of confetti, Westchester Writers Workshop Magazine.
I wrote this poem originally in response to an ekphrastic challenge by Wee Sparrow Poetry Press. It did not win but was featured in their newsletter.
Thanks!

misted houses & hills
a distance fog encroaches
tulips continue their dance
wintering docks
wait on dry land
eager to soak
bedridden, aching feet
spring cleanup—
items we couldn’t live without,
we’re about to live without
still-vibrant red tulips,
lovely heads bowing in the wind—
yet, not long for this world
