I was drawn to these hay bales partly due to their proximity to the country back road I travelled on tonight as well as to how they were positioned there, the three larger ones with the baby close by, nestled beneath some trees at the entrance to a wide open field. Later, when I uploaded the photos to my computer, I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed all that grass growing on the surface, poking through the mesh that holds these larger cylindrical bales of hay together.

It made me smile.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Sense of Seeing

Replacing our old wood deck with one made of composite materials is a low-priority item on our To Do list right now. Until then, we’re stuck with looking at the moss and mold growing on the steps and framework whenever we climb up the stairs from our patio. Normally, I don’t even notice this subtle shade of green embedded in the wood grain shown here but it jumped out at me today in light of this week’s Fun Foto challenge!

Cee has tasked us with posting photos of five or more items. A tasty entrée to go with pork chops is asparagus, several of which (translation: more than five!) are amassed on this lovely platter made of plastic, grilled for supper one night last week courtesy of my husband. Slathered in olive oil and adorned with sea salt – this popular spring vegetable was quite delicious.
