Going through old photos on my cell phone, I came across this image from my days of experimenting with collage & paint in the early days, weeks and months of the pandemic. I did this on grocery paper using a roller and gel pad. I had lots of fun making these abstract designs. My inner child reconstructing art class!

Although my dad was a sawyer, whose livelihood was taking down groves of oak, maple and cottonwood – and the occasional large walnut – and cutting them into lumber, we’ve always had a love affair with trees. One of my favorite things to do is to hike through the woods where, I’m told, it’s impossible to ever be in a bad mood. True story!
