an uneasy sleep
dream worlds
collide

an uneasy sleep
dream worlds
collide
landscaping deliveries
the back-up chimes
of a yo-yo retailer
sweatshirt, a few haggard holes
mapped to the season’s first pair of shorts
the slightest chill, apprehensions of warmth
kaffe fassett color
quilt dries deliciously
in the morning breeze

NOTE: Kaffe Fassett (‘kaffe’ rhymes with ‘safe’!) is a fabric icon to thousands (millions?!?) of quilting enthusiasts. I adore his inspired patterns, colors and designs.
softer words
interspersed with unkind moments
my jagged edges
cloud-mist
tender shoots
a darkening sky
birdbath planter
scattered greenery
robin-chorus crescendo
seven 20 lb concrete blocks
subtle reminders to husband unheeded
so, I just moved them all myself
warmth envelops my body
I tell myself
it’s time to be good
to who I am
My poem an inebriated body lists to port has been published in Issue 4.1 of The Imagist Literary Magazine. Traverse the page a few scrolls and you’ll find it! Happy Friday and THANK YOU for looking.
