crashing into morning
one foot hits the floor
I still need to sleep

crashing into morning
one foot hits the floor
I still need to sleep
dark-blue expanse
northern sky emboldened
cold front moving in
table scraps
a crusty parmesan
moths in the willow
My poems, Carnivorous and Word-Shopping, Part I, were published today in the online version of The Stygian Lepus, a dark literary journal. I hope that maybe you might like one – or both! – of them.
Also, forever and a day, THANK YOU for looking. Thank you for your support!

Most literary journals and online publications don’t accept poetry that has appeared elsewhere; however, some do, and I’m pleased that two of my poems were accepted (as reprints) in The Field Guide Poetry Magazine.
Mackinaw first appeared in Recesses Zine and lagger tag was originally published in Do Geese See God. I hope you enjoy them both! Always and forever, THANK YOU for looking.

little puppy
so sweet, so magnificent
a love that grows & grows
tiny chunks of ice
thunder snow & lightning
juncos, long gone,
flown away from here
early spring hike
turkey peas & hitchhiker weeds
tear & snag my Lycra leggings
opponents’ hands in the air
hungry for tip-off’s edge
may I have this dance?
