Carpenter Star

I don’t usually post my quilting projects. Well, at first, I guess I did but, in any case, I just haven’t done it much lately. Anyway, I did want to share this one which I started nearly a year ago. I’ve worked on it, off and on, throughout the year and finally finished it this afternoon.

Its design is called the Carpenter Star, and it measures 82×82. I’m very pleased with how it turned out. This one was a beast to work on and I’m so glad it’s done!! Now to focus on poetry again for a little while before I start another quilt project anytime soon. At least that’s the plan!!

    • Until a few years ago, I had no interest whatsoever. I didn’t even know how to thread a needle on a sewing machine, a decidedly foreign object as far as I was concerned. My mom has quilted for years and it wasn’t until my youngest sister started, two years before I did, that I thought I’d give it a try. It took a lot of hand holding and guidance from her and my mom but before I could say fat quarter bundle, I was off and away on my own quilting adventures! Fabric stores are heaven on earth and filled with wonderful, colorful, must-have temptations. I’m so glad I gave it a go!
