sweet alyssum’s tiny buds
peer through the herb garden
dots of pink & purple
amongst the vibrant greens

My poems, Arctic and field, were published today by January House Literary Journal. They will appear in the print issue this fall. I love the opportunity to share my work with fellow poets and writers. Thank you!!
Two Poems by Julie Allyn Johnson – January House Literary Journal
little birds, partake—
gather these seeds
offered to you
so that I might heed
your every song
sky hollowed out
chunks of yellow, pale blue
overlay of planetary disturbances
little green men do battle
with other, littler green men
Two of my haiku appear in the May 2025 print issue of Scifaikuest which specializes in scifaiku and other minimalist poetry forms forms, notably senryu, haibun, and tanka, as well as cinquains, fibonacci, etc.
I hope you enjoy them. As always, THANKS for looking!!

linden leaf droppings
clutter the herb garden,
I clean the beds as best I can.
I’d had such plans for the mojito mint
though it does smell divine.
the oregano, basil, rosemary,
thyme, sage, & parsley—
I’m pleased with all of it.
oh, but those chives!
papa cardinal, his regal redness
dotes on young ones
pointing out safflower seeds
scattered on the ground
