Seems every spring, just as our magnolia is starting to bloom, ka-blammo!, we’re hit with another cold, windy, freezing, nasty blast of winter. Stepping outside this morning, I see there are a few blossoms that don’t look too shabby. A nice reminder that spring is coming, though not as fast as I’d like!

P.S. What a great scene

lemon Greek yogurt
for my break-the-fast
tangy pulp, fun to eat!
these final days of winter—
one last fling
before April, May & lovely June
dark band spans the western horizon
onslaught of starlings directly overhead
distant thunder shreds the otherwise silence—
our apocalyptic morning
their denial,
it’s deafening
Death takes note
of the cheerful & the forlorn
none shall ever be forsaken
empty limbs, bare branches
rockin’ & rollin’
in the bitter March breeze
