Into the Depths
enthusiasms in decline
or already dead
motivations lacking
or never-were
faltering footprints of self-pity
give way to immobilization
boot straps — broken nubs…
curled up, knees to forehead
sunken cheeks, cool to the touch
eyes a-glaze…
covers in a heap, empty side of the room
noon whistles blasts
the requisite three and a half minutes
yes, covid is a thing
but, girl, you’ve got to
pull yourself together

Painted Grain Silo
A recent cell phone ‘dump’ yielded these photos from May of last year that I forgot I’d taken. An Australian artist, Guido van Helton, painted these incredible images on a 110-foot tall grain silo in my husband’s home town of Fort Dodge, Iowa. Here’s a link with more information.

Driven to Abstraction
This is a photo of the ‘background’ for a page I’ve prepped in the altered book I’m working on. I almost hate to cover it up! Anyway, it’s a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Color = POWER. Bam!!!
Art is fun!!
