Weekly Photo Challenge: Extraordinary
Our assignment this week is to provide photographic evidence of that which is ordinary, everyday and mundane but yet soothing, beautiful or otherwise pleasing to the soul (my interpretation rather than a verbatim description of the task at hand).
To keep sparrows and other small birds from nesting in our furnace exhaust, husband fashioned a crude chicken wire cover to prevent them from swooping in and potentially clogging the pipe. Time and Midwest weather conditions have transformed sleek, dull gray metal into earthy colors – alive with texture! – in vivid contrast with Home Depot White.
I somewhat enjoy the resulting look of this combination of forces: thus, the photo.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Happy Place
My happy place? Firmly, contentedly ensconced behind my camera.
I’ve finally found my passion in life and it’s photography. Everywhere I go, my visual antennae is constantly attuned to my surroundings. I enjoy looking for the unexpected, for patterns, for color, shapes and most importantly, I revel in the light. I’ve driven solo on gravel roads, stopping when something catches my eye, getting out of my car and walking along fields, woodlands and pastures and have actually laughed and shrieked out loud: This is so much fun!
So definitely, without any doubt, my happy place is anywhere my camera takes me!

The leaves of the tree (what’s remaining) are closely aligned color-wise with the brushy tips of this furry fall visitor.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Beneath My Feet
This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Beneath Your Feet is right up (?) my alley. Some of my favorite shots are photos I’ve taken while deep in thought, looking down at the ground!
