evening’s embrace
daylight, richly spent
election day in America—
hopefully
not our last
popcorn fires
on all cylinders
old maids bouncing
off the walls
clay pots tumble
wind out of the northwest
blizzard warning
expansive sky
sun-dappled waters
the heart is happy
disco chicken
strobe-light clucker
jive talkin’
just as I remember it—
spooky day,
windy, cold & wet
honey toast & juice
a light frost
blankets the fairways
